This post will go over my experience with this Blue Screen of Death error called “Bad_pool_caller”. I did a bunch of research on the net. Solutions ranged from bad memory to corrupted hard drive.
I booted the machine to run it in a Pre Boot environment to do some virus scans and other clean up tools. The machine would constantly crash, crash and reboot or Blue Screen on me. I tried swapping out memory and then I noticed that the CPU fan did not turn on when the machine was turned back on. I replaced the CPU fan on the CPU heat sink and voila! The machine stopped blue screening. Who says the blue screen is always Microsoft’s fault 😉
Here’s a picture of the old one out of the system and then the new one installed in the system.
I must admit it is a bit louder then a generic fan but the heat sink doesn’t even feel warm at all.
