I originally couldn’t select a printer in Excel. What I mean by I can’t select the printer in Excel is when I hit Ctrl+P to bring up the excel printer window, one of the printers I wanted to select was not in the drop down list. I went back to verify that the printer was indeed installed on the machine. I did the normal things like removing and re-installing the printer. After further troubleshooting I found out that I couldn’t change the default printer in windows!
Well it turns out it isn’t an Excel issue and rather a Windows issue! You might find my “Can’t change the default printer in Windows” post to be helpful in solving this issue. Hopefully after you follow those steps you can get rid of the “Can’t select printer in Excel” issue.
