How setup WP-DBManager with Godaddy (mysqldump and mysql)

I had a bit of a tough time with this one. When setting up WP-DBPManger in a WordPress install on GoDaddy you will need to use different paths then what most of the forums are saying. The autodect feature in WP-DBManager does not work either when the provider is GoDaddy.

To get things working you will need to enter this info:

If you don’t have this info entered you will see red errors all over the place and the backup will not work properly.

Hope this helps anyone trying to setup WP-DBManager on GoDaddy!

  1. Good morning to you Jared.
I’m new to wordpress, and have made some headways..
I’m hosting my site with Godaddy in Window server.
installed wp-dbmanager (Version 2.63), and have followed their instruction, google searched instruction and your instruction as well but no go. auto detect points to /usr/local/mysql-5.0.91/bin/mysqldump.exe, and I have tried various combination for paths.

I have tried what wp-dbmanager said to try:

    Windows Server
For mysqldump path, you can try ‘mysqldump.exe’.
For mysql path, you can try ‘mysql.exe’.

but no go there.. most posting regarding wp-dbmanager path issues are about 2 years old and seem to address UNIX (or Linux) hosting… any insight would be greatly appreciate it!!! thank you and have a great day!

    JL
