This post will go over setting up sending voicemail on a Mitel Application Suite (MAS) server to email via SMTP. I’m not sure if Mitel could make it any more convoluted.
There is a couple of things that need to be done:
First Log into MAS and then click on NuPoint Web Console.
Next you will need to know what the users extension is. You can tell under the “Desk phone” column:
Next you need to go under “NuePoint Web Console”.
In NuPoint Web console you will need to make a policy. Mitel calls policies “Class of Service” or COS. The COS can be named whatever but we called ours MAS – SMTP. The permission that actually allows you to type in an email address is this (289):
Click on “Mail Boxes”. Enter mailbox number you looked up in the “Mailbox Number” box and hit search.
After searching click on the extension number link.
You will need to enable the fature first. This is by changing the policy “COS” to “MAS – SMTP”.
Make sure you put the person’s proper email address in the UM-SMTP email address box and hit “save”.
I hope this helps you setup sending voicemail to email using the Mitel Application Suite (MAS).
