I just came across this because I am anctiously awaiting the Starcradt 2 release š When I was signing up for the Beta I noticed you could add some of your old Blizzard games to your profile. I added my Starcraft CD-Key to the system. It allows you to then download and install the game without a CD!
First you have to log into Battlenet. If you donāt have an account you should go and create one.
Enter your info:
If you havenāt already registered you Starcraft game you must make sure to add it to the list of games.
Once the game is added to your profile you should see something like this:
Click the āManage Gameā button. On the next screen you will be shown your āStar Craft Game Keyā and two links. Windows and Mac Links.
Once you download the game go to where you told battlenet to save the files to:
You need to double click āInstallerā. The game will still ask you for the serial number. You can get that from your original CD case or you can just copy and paste the Game key from the website.
Voila. The games should be installed. You didnāt need the CD to install Starcraft and you donāt need the CD to run the game either š
