Projector’s display gets distorted when laptop is plugged into an outlet

Ok. Both myself and a co-worker have experienced this once each. The projector is plugged into the VGA display port on the laptop. The output of the projector was fine when the laptop was running on it’s own battery. When the you plug in the laptop into the wall while still plugged into the projector you will notice the screen will start shaking and doing funny things.

The issue is the electrical system. Our best guess is the ground in the electrical system has not been setup properly.

Both times we have seen this issue we’ve “solved” the issue by applying this fix. Either remove the ground pin (if the adapter supports it) or order from the manufacturer a power adapter without the ground pin.

Once you have done that you should see a huge difference. The screen won’t look like it’s having a fit anymore!
